Antonis Delonis (1935-2019) worked as teacher for over thirty years, applying pioneering ideas and concepts to the field of education. After 1980, he devoted himself to writing for children and young adults (both theatrical plays and novels) and was subsequently awarded many times for his work. His books are characterized by vivid language with subtle humour, an approach to problems that concern children, as well as the vigilant presence of an open-minded and helpful teacher. Antonis Delonis also worked on the literary theory of the children's book and was the co-editor of Diadromes (the Greek children's literature Review) from 1986-1990.
