GALATIA GRIGORIADOU SOURELI was born in Macedonia. In 1954 she wrote her first book. She was the author of many books. A member of the National Authors Society and the Circle of the Greek Children's Book, she was awarded by the Women's Literary Society in 1964 and three times by the Circle of the Greek Children's Book. Her name was included in the IBBY Honors List in 1978. In 1980, the Athens Academy awarded her with the Children's Literature Prize for her overall work. She passed away in 2016. Galatia was a unique author who combined moral issues with high rolling plots that resulted in fabulous, engrossing books for young readers.
