Loty Petrovits-Andrutsopulou was born in Athens and writes books for children since 1973. She has been awarded the Athens Academy Award, the State Award for Children Literature, honorary diplomas by Padova University, and a further nine Panhellenic awards. She was the Greek candidate for the International Hans Christian Andersen Prize in 1994 and her name was written in the IBBY Honor List in 1992. Much of her work have been broadcast on the radio, adapted into television series, and translated into Japanese, English, Albanian and Korean.Loty is one of the most acclaimed and charismatic authors for children and all of her books are considered a must.
