Usually, when overcome by misfortune, people raise their heads to the sky and ask “Why me, God?” Personally, I have never asked that question… I knew why.
I have been a sinner. I have been greedy. I have been unfaithful. I have been immoral. I have been a murderer.
I always believed that God never forgot my deeds and that the time had come for me to pay. It is for this reason that I bowed my head and accepted my punishment. I accepted to remain alive and to continue to live, even though my redemption would have been to die.
My name is Anna and this is the story of my life. I repaid my debt to God with my tears. And, as for the debt I owe humans, that I will pay with this book. I’m opening my heart to you and telling you my story with the utmost honesty.
I may tell you just one little lie… an insignificant, or perhaps just a very significant one…
