Litsa Psarafti was born in Samos and is a prolific writer whose work has been highly awarded both nationally and internationally for its excellence. She is a member of the Circle of the Greek Children's Book, the Women's Literary Society as well as the editorial board of Diadromes, the journal for children's literature. She was the Greek candidate for the International Hans Christian Andersen Prize in 2000 as well as the Astrid Lindgren Prize in 2006. Her name has also been included in the IBBY Honor List in 1996.
