They say that behind every great man, there usually hides a great woman. The cliché, however, is overturned, the moment that Teresa Volanis, great sculptor Angelos Avgerinos’ pupil, model and lover, becomes a bright and shining star all on her own. Her teacher begins to feel that he is losing his pedestal and his selfishness blinds him. Collision is unavoidable despite the fact that his sculptures have, in truth, been created by his student. Set against a backdrop of Athens between the two world wars and the decadent freedom of the cabarets when everything was permissible, a tumultuous affair that stretches far and above the borders of Greece, leads its protagonists into a turbulent life shifting from triumphant acclamation to the ferocity of flame and destruction. Will Teresa Volanis’ star ultimately set behind the shadow of the sculptor?
