This beautiful saga tells of one of the most exciting and enchanting eras of the city of Istanbul prior to the Asia Minor Catastrophe, through the story of a forbidden love between two young people, Hara and Nikitas. They experience a love that is whole and pure, yet forbidden by their social surroundings. Life isn't all that kind to them and the young couple will have to complete their own, at once personal and painful, cycle until they can seal the love that binds them. Written in a language that is elegant and lively and filled with the exquisite aromas of the East, the narration is embroidered with just the right amounts of historical and cultural elements, while the photographs and maps of the city help guide the reader through the setting.
