ELECTRA - THE TEAR OF AFRICA

In Athens, in 1969, young Electra, a graduate of the College of Arts, is ready to conquer he dreams. An unpredicted meeting with immigrant Elias Thomopoulos overturns her plans. His exciting stories of Africa fill her with awe and wonder and she ends up marrying him and following him to the Dark Continent. Very soon she will discover that Nigeria is not the safe country she imagined it to be. Electra is forced to yield to loneliness, a fear of black magic as well as armed robbery. On the other hand, she won’t be deterred from falling passionately in love with Africa and devoting herself to the children of the American Missionary School, where she teaches, and to all the orphans who find unconditional love in her embrace.
After forty-five years of a full life, Electra and Elias decide to return home, however they would never have believed that when one uproots an elderly tree it then withers and dies. Elias endures only two years in Greece. Following his death, there is nothing keeping her back from the Africa she loves. She returns, unsuspecting the grand game that destiny has in store for her: a meeting with the militant organization, Boko Haram.
