Makis Tsitas was born in 1971 in Axos, Yiannitsa. He studied journalism in Thessaloniki and went on to work in radio. Since 1994 he lives in Athens where he works in publishing. He has also written short stories, plays and poems which have appeared in anthologies, journals and newspapers in Greece and abroad. His one-act plays "In the Square" and "The Television" have been performed by the "Theatro ton Kairon" theatre company. He collaborated on the screenplay of Christoforos Christofis's film "Monkey Queen". His short stories have been translated into German, Spanish, English, Finnish, Swedish and Hebrew. In total he has written one book for adults and four books for children.Makis Tsitas is distinguished for his simple yet powerful writing which children identify with.
