Nefeli, a distinguished botanist, accepts a surprising business proposal just as her personal life is crumbling all around her. Nicholas Sander, historian and archaologist, is called upon to bring a medieval village to light. An ancient manuscript about herbs and roots, and a vial filled with a mysterious substance will bring the couple up against a terrible secret lost in time in northern France in 1506. A novel rife with adventure and passion, where medieval legend and conviction come to life through a painful journey of self-discovery: a journey of fire… A novel comparable to the writings of Kate Mosse’s LABYRINTH with twists and turns for every reader’s relish.
